Room 214, after much hard work, dedication and effort, have won the Music Stars Contest for Term 1. Even though they had a slight disadvantage (They are a Monday class) they still worked hard to edge out the competition by 3 stars! 214 really enjoyed the new violin unit, and sing wonderfully in chorus. Ms. Coutu was very proud. 214 will receive their well earned prize next week!

Since the middle of September, the 3rd, 4th and 5th grades have been playing violins in music class. This unit was formerly part of the elementary music curriculum, but was lost many years ago. We were so thrilled to get the program back up and running. Students learned about the parts of the violin, how it produces a sound, how to care for and maintain the instrument, as well as how to pluck and bow a few simple songs. To listen to recordings of the students playing the violins, please click on the music clips in the sidebar. You can also right click the icon to download the recording to share with friends and family. Make sure to scroll down to find the right class.
