As I was scrolling through the many music blogs that I read, and I stumbled upon this older post on sewing recorder cases. Since the third grade recorder unit is beginning soon, and often the recorder case is the first thing that gets lost, I thought it would be good information to share! Just click on the link below:
Today, members of the Lexington Symphony visited Pine Glen to give the third graders a preview of the performance they will be going to see in a few weeks. The students got to see and hear and a violin, viola, clarinet, and tuba (everyone’s favorite!) up close! The musicians discussed the science behind how their instruments work, the four families of instruments, and each of their roles within the orchestra. We also got to hear them play several pieces together. The students were a wonderful audience and asked really thoughtful questions. We are all really excited to see the full orchestra at the end of the month.
