NAMM Community Forum Performance

Last Friday I had the pleasure of bringing a group of fifth grade students to perform at the NAMM community forum to support Music Education.  During the forum there were a number of performances including a group from Memorial School, the Select Chorus from MSMS, and the BHS Select Singers.  The chorus’s also sang a combined National Anthem. The event was a wonderful experience for all the students. We even got a tour of the John Lennon Bus!  Here is a video of the event as well as a few photos from our tour.

As a result of Burlington High School student Pranav Mendon’s winning video about the Burlington Music Department, the John Lennon Tour Bus has rolled into Burlington today! The tour bus is basically a rolling state of the art recording studio. Today a few high school student have the opportunity to spend the day in the bus playing and creating music together. Tomorrow a small group of Pine Glen School’s fifth graders will have the opportunity to tour the bus, as well as perform as part of a concert that showcases the Burlington Music Department.  The performance will be streaming live starting at 8:30 a.m. tomorrow September 26th. For more information on how to watch and listen in to this even online, please visit http://www.lennonbus.org/live%20.

For those who are performing don’t forget to meet me at BHS at 7:45 tomorrow morning, and wear your Pine Glen green!

I am really looking forward to this special perfromance!

Second, I would like to remind all 4th and 5th graders to please bring their recorder into school if they haven’t already!  They can also be dropped off during Open House in the bins along the back windows.

Third, all 5th graders participating in the NAMM concert on Friday September 26th need their permission slip turned in by Wednesday.  Don’t forget that a parent needs to drop you off at Burlington High School between 7:45 and 8:00 A.M. on Friday in the circle by the flagpole.  Look for Mrs. Agati outside when you get there. Looking forward to a great week!
